The Story of Danielle Kay Medical Herbalist

Quality assured professional service

Danielle Kay Medical Herbalist has been delivering high quality herbal treatment for over 10 years.  She runs a busy herbal practice based in east Lancashire and is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, the largest and oldest professional body of medical herbalists in the UK.  She is also a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners and General Naturopathic Council.  She is a clinical tutor for Heartwood professional herbalist students.

She has had a lifelong interest in natural health and wellbeing.  She was inspired to train as a herbalist after becoming a mum and wanting to be able to take the best care of her family possible.  She studied herbal medicine for five years at the University of Central Lancashire and was awarded a first-class honours degree.

Her passion for excellence is ongoing and she regularly attends continuing professional development events to learn new skills and keep up to date with new developments.

Supplying high quality natural health products and ensuring people have a safe and effective alternative when it comes to their health needs is Danielle's goal.  She is passionate about educating, supporting and empowering others to improve their health.  Through one-to-one consultations, functional medicine testing, dispensing individualized herbal medicine and high-quality nutritional supplements, she helps her patients to improve and take better care of their health and wellbeing, sometimes attaining a level of health they never thought possible.

Danielle believes safe, effective and natural healthcare should be available to everyone, so operates a sliding scale for her consultations to keep costs down for people on lower incomes.

Danielle is a wild woman herbalist who loves being out on the land, amongst the wild plants, connecting with nature, foraging and growing herbs.  She delivers workshops and talks far and wide.  She has been running the much-loved course Weeds and Wild Medicine, a course on hedgerow herbalism through the seasons with fellow wild woman herbalist Edwina Hodkinson for several years now.  See www.weedsandwildmedicine.co.uk for more details.  She loves seasonal celebrations and ceremonies to pay her respects to the Earth and its cycles and can usually be found upon the moortop at full moon drumming to honour the lunar energy and rhythms of nature.
